Louis Vuitton / Random Studio
We were asked to create a life size virtual representation of a subway station for the New York edition of the Luis Vuitton Volez Voguez Voyagez exposition. A 22m long video wall allowed a life-size train to enter the space at a set interval, accompanied by an immersive 6-speaker soundscape. The project was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to engage with audiences as they enter the Louis Vuitton Voyage exposition in New York.
We used Unreal Engine 4 to build the application from the ground up and took care of everything game related, including: the train model, rig, animation, game logic, shaders and rendering. The end result is a beautiful looking installation that runs at 60fps on an ~8K screen without any latency. But most important of all: the installation surprised and entertained many of the visitors on their way to see the exposition.
Naivi would like to thank Nina van Geleuken, Sietske Wielsma and William H. de Boer for their help.
